I initially produced a series of pieces for an art show in Hong Kong through That Gallery, which unsurprisingly turned out to be as close to a scam you can get to.
My approach for the series was to do whatever I wanted and leave myself completely uncensored. At the time I was feeling very constrained with my work so I saw this as an ideal opportunity to get myself out of that creative rut. I worked without much or indeed any backup or preparation work so as to see what would happen.
These were produced on sliced up bristol board, and then sketched up and then in in with a dip pen and india ink. Some elements were tracked on using makeshift lightbox - consisting of a pane of glass and an old military quarter lamp.
