We developed a storyboard-led concept for DHL’s event opener that combined brand storytelling with cinematic motion design. The creative treatment positioned DHL employees as the brand’s heroes, using dynamic closeups, bold compositions, and a clear narrative arc to transition from individual achievements to a collective, high-energy reveal. Designed to play equally well on large event screens, digital channels, and social cut-downs, the storyboard focused on creating a strong emotional connection while staying aligned with the DHL brand identity.
The approach emphasised clarity and flexibility for production teams. Each frame was designed to act as a motion-ready guide, with clearly defined beats that supported pacing, editorial timing, and audience engagement. By grounding the storyboard in cinematic storytelling and marketing strategy, the project elevated DHL’s event opener into a powerful piece of branded content that could be extended beyond the live show into wider promotional use.

The storyboard process was intentionally fast but highly focused. Initial sketches were created in a sketchbook and then refined into a prepared storyboard template to map out the flow of the opener. Taking inspiration from comic book storytelling, each panel emphasised dynamism, action, and energy - key qualities needed to communicate the superhero theme. The work was sketched in HB pencil for speed, then reworked with a softer 2B pencil to add depth, shading, and definition before scanning.
This comic-book inspired approach allowed us to combine speed with visual impact, producing a set of frames that felt cinematic, bold, and ready for motion. Despite the short turnaround, the storyboard maintained a high level of polish, with hero moments clearly articulated and transitions easy to interpret for animation. The final delivery included the complete storyboard sequence, detailed closeups for key hero beats, banner artwork for event/web use, and motion-ready layered assets - providing DHL with a flexible, production-friendly creative toolkit
